Set up is simple. Just print, laminate, and play. Participants must remember as many items on the tray as possible. You can place the paper on an actual tray for a realistic effect or display on a projector for everyone to see. There are many ways to play, so as to include all capabilities.
1 – Let participants view the items for up to 1 minute; 2 – To make it easier, announce that each item starts with the same letter, for example, the letter E; 3 – Make it a competition and have teams work together to remember as many items as possible;
Tie Breaker: Cover 1 item on the tray and have teams answer what they think is missing.
Note: 1 page/9 items = All items start with the same letter
After each round, display the tray again to jog participant’s memories For best results, laminate the cards before use. Keep the cards together with a binder ring, ribbon, binder, folder, or sheet protector. To extend the activity, ask follow up questions about the objects: have you ever eaten an eggplant, have you ever used an ax, have you ever traveled by bicycle, when did you last have popcorn, what time does the clock say right now, have you ever milked a cow, etc.
Tip: Print 4 cards to 1 page to create a flashcard game format, cut, and use.
